New Delhi : The ruling Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi has announced a big relief in the registration fee for electric vehicles. Under this, it has been announced to give exemption in registration fee of vehicles. No registration fee will be charged for battery operated vehicles. This was announced by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal during a press conference on Friday. This has brought great relief to those wishing to purchase electric vehicles. After this announcement, Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot congratulated Chief Minister Arvind for this announcement by tweeting.

On October 11 of the same month, electric vehicles were also exempted from road tax. In such a situation, it is a big relief for those who want to buy electric vehicles. At the same time, the effort of the Delhi government to promote electric vehicles seems to be successful.

According to the information received, 2629 electric vehicles have been registered in Delhi from April to September. These include 297 motorcycles and scooters, while 67 cabs and 80 cars. The special thing is that people have purchased these vehicles without taking any subsidy. In view of this, the conclusion can be reached that the trend towards electric vehicles is increasing among people. At present, the total number of electric vehicles in Delhi is near to one lakh.

The Delhi government has implemented an electric vehicle policy to curb vehicular pollution. In which subsidy is being given for the purchase of vehicles. The subsidy amount has been kept according to the category of vehicles. Apart from waiving the road tax on the purchase of such vehicles, the government is now going to waive the registration fee for the vehicles. Experts believe that with the introduction of subsidy, the trend of people towards electric vehicles will increase. Many people were waiting for this subsidy.
