New Delhi : Workers of Punjab Youth Congress set fire to a tractor at India Gate on Monday morning. The incident took place amid protests by farmers and opposition parties across the country in protest against the agricultural bills passed in Parliament last week. According to fire officials, they received information about the incident at 7.42 am and two fire engines were sent to the spot immediately.

According to the information, the workers of Punjab Youth Congress loaded the old tractor in a truck and brought it to Rajpath and set the tractor on fire on the middle road. At the same time, Delhi Police has detained 5 people in connection with the burning of a tractor on Rajpath. The names of these five are Manjot Singh, Ramandeep Singh Sindhu, Rahul, Sahib and Sumit.

According to fire brigade officials, they received information about the incident at 7.42 am and two fire brigade vehicles were sent to the spot immediately. Ish Singhal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) said, “Around 15-20 people gathered between 7.15 am and 7.30 am and set the tractor on fire. The fire has been extinguished and the tractor has been removed from there. Legal action is being taken in the case. People involved in the incident are also being identified.”
