New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi made it clear in the midst of an uproar over the three major bills related to agriculture that the MSP (minimum support price) and government procurement system will remain. The farmers will benefit from the bills. In opposition to the bills, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that many forces are engaged in confusing the farmers.

The Prime Minister’s statement comes at a time when Akali Dal quota leader Harsimrat Kaur has resigned from the post of Union Minister, opposing the bills. Prime Minister Modi tweeted on Thursday, saying, “The passage of historic agrarian reform bills in the Lok Sabha is an important moment for the country’s farmers and the agricultural sector. These bills will truly free the farmers from middlemen and all obstacles. ” The Prime Minister said, “With this agricultural reform bill, farmers will get new opportunities to sell their produce, which will increase their profits. With this, our agriculture sector will get the benefit of modern technology, whereas the farmers will be empowered.”

In the tweet, the Prime Minister wrote, a lot of powers are engaged in confusing the farmers. I assure my farmer brothers and sisters that the minimum support price (MSP) and government procurement will continue. These bills are really going to empower the farmers by giving them many more options.

Many ministers are supporting the bills passed in Lok Sabha. Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, Lok Sabha has passed a historic bill in the interest of farmers today. Farmers will now be able to sell their crop outside the mandi, wherever they get good prices. Farmers will be free from exploitation by middlemen. Thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this historic law of farmers’ interest. Today, under the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, one of the biggest reforms in the agricultural sector after independence got the approval of the Lok Sabha. India’s agriculture will be better linked to industries, farmers will get the right price for agricultural products and their life will be prosperous.
