Mumbai: There are only a few days left for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 to begin. All the teams are busy with preparations. Players are following different ways to keep themselves fit along with net practice. All the teams have also started shooting video of players for the IPL. In this episode, Delhi Capitals were also shooting and during this time Shikhar Dhawan was seen teaching Punjabi dance to Ajinkya Rahane and R Ashwin.

Shikhar Dhawan has shared this video on his Instagram account. Along with this, he wrote, “Teaching my two teammates a few Punjabi steps but it’s going to take a while to get them into a rhythm. Lovely to see them dancing since they are usually shy. Always have fun and keep the kid inside of you alive”

Significantly, after a long wait, the Indian Premier League (IPL) schedule was released on 6 September. All IPL franchises have reached the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to take part in IPL 2020. BCCI has decided to use Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah as the three venues for IPL in order to minimize the traveling of players. The tournament opener of the 53-day tournament will be played between defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on September 19.

The opening batsman from Delhi Capitals, Shikhar Dhawan joined a zoom video conference from UAE and answered the questions from the journalists. He said, ‘I was never scared of the corona situation and unlike few other cricketers, I never had any apprehensions before traveling to Dubai for the IPL.’

The first match in Sharjah will be played on 22 September between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings. After the inaugural match of the tournament, the Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab will face off in Dubai the next day, while on 21 September, there will be a match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Dubai will host a total of 24 matches. 20 matches will be played in Abu Dhabi and 12 in Sharjah. According to the BCCI release, two matches will be played for a total of ten days. Of these, the first match would start at 3.30 pm Indian time, and the second match would start at 7.30 pm.

The IPL 2020 playoff venues will be announced later. The final will be held on 10 November. The tournament will run for a total of 53 days and thus become the longest-running season in the history of IPL.
