Maharashtra : Temples and all the religious places to open from today

Mumbai : Amidst the corona epidemic, the Maharashtra government has made preparations to open temples and religious places. All religious places in the state of Uddhav Thackeray Government will be reopened from Monday. During this time all rules and laws will have to be strictly followed. Masks will be mandatory.

Guidelines to be followed
– Only those who don’t have corona symptoms will be allowed to enter the temple.
– It will be mandatory to wash hands and feet with soap before entering the premises of religious places.
– The temperature will be checked at the entrance.
– Touching temple bells and the idol will be prohibited.
– Entry without a mask will be prohibited.
– Social distancing will have to be followed strictly.
– Prohibition on giving prasad or water from hands.
– Pregnant women and elderly over 65 years will not be given entry.

The Uddhav Thackeray government in Maharashtra has given permission to open temples, mosques, gurudwaras, dargahs all. But Covid’s rules will have to be followed before going to religious places. Wearing a mask will also be necessary, and maintain social distance as well.

Temples, mosques, gurudwaras, churches and all religious places were closed from March 18 due to the Corona crisis in Maharashtra. But the BJP had started a movement to re-open the temples. There was a hunger strike, and then the Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshiyari wrote to the Uddhav government for this, and the matter reached Hindutva.

Politics on opening of religious places
In Maharashtra, it was the noise of that movement, where there were echoes from devotion to political power. Temples and all religious places were locked for a long time. This decision of the Uddhav government had filled the saints with anger and they kept asking their demands directly from the government.

From Mumbai to all the cities of Maharashtra, Sant Samaj was adamant on the demand to open the temple. On one hand, the saints and BJP were adamant on the front with the demand to open the temple, while the government stood firm on its decision regarding the corona cases.

Every day only 1,000 devotees will be allowed inside the famous Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai. Devotees will need to fill their details and book an appointment online through the temple app. After this a QR code with a time slot will be generated. QR codes will be generated for 1,000 devotees. Senior citizens have been asked to avoid visiting temples and do virtual darshan on the app.
