UP : 6.10 lakh poor will get shelter by 31 March, Yogi government issues orders

Lucknow : The state government is going to start construction of houses on a war footing after Prime Minister Narendra Modi transferred the amount of housing construction under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) to the bank account of the beneficiaries. By March 31, 6.10 lakh beneficiaries from rural areas will become owners of houses built under this scheme. The Rural Development Department has given necessary instructions to the officials to start construction of houses.

Under this scheme in the state, the state government has so far given housing to 14.5 lakh poor families. On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath transferred an amount of Rs 2690.77 crore to 5.30 lakh beneficiaries as first installment of housing construction and 80 thousand beneficiaries as second installment under this scheme.

Additional Chief Secretary of Rural Development Department Manoj Kumar Singh has informed that the target of all 6.10 lakh houses to be built before 31 March 2021 has been given to the officers. With the release of installments, construction of houses has been asked to start immediately. In which the officers posted will contact the beneficiaries and start the construction work as soon as possible. Regular monitoring of construction of houses will also be done from the government level. Other facilities to the beneficiaries have also been asked to be provided immediately. Toilets are also to be built along with housing construction. The beneficiaries will also get LPG and electricity connection.
