New Delhi : Legendary cricketers like Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Brian Lara and Muttiah Muralitharan are returning on the field from the T-20, the ‘Unacademy Road Safety World Series’, to be played in Raipur from March 2 to 21 next month. Its first season was suspended on March 11 last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic after four matches. The organizers announced on Tuesday that the remaining matches would be played at the newly constructed Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium with a capacity of 65,000 spectators in Raipur.

According to this, “Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Brian Lara, Brett Lee, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Muttiah Muralitharan and many other former veterans of the five cricketing nations show their magic in this annual T20 cricket tournament. Former cricketers from Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies and host India will participate in it. It is being organized to spread awareness about road safety in the country.

He said, “Since cricket is the most popular sport in the country and cricketers are seen as ideal heroes here, this league is a try to change the mindset of the people towards their behavior on the roads.” Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that it is proud to host veterans in Raipur during the ‘Road Safety World Series T20’ and It is a matter of honor. He said that it is a wonderful concept to make people aware of the danger on the road. This is very important because one person dies every four minutes on Indian roads.
