But now he will not come. He has cancelled the tour to India. After cancelling his tour, he had a telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In this conversation, PM Johnson once again thanked PM Modi for his invitation to visit India as the Chief Guest of the Republic Day celebrations. However, he regretted his inability to participate in view of the new type of Covid-19 spreading in Britain. However British Prime Minister Boris Johnson reiterated his eagerness to visit India in the near future.
PM Modi expressed his understanding on the situation in Britain, and conveyed his best wishes for the measures taken to check it soon after the outbreak. Johnson canceled his tour due to a new strain of the coronavirus spreading rapidly in Britain.
