Govt. Invites Proposals To Install ‘Charging Stations’ Everywhere From Highways To Expressways

New Delhi : While the government is giving subsidies to boost sales of electric vehicles, it is making all the procedures for opening charging stations easier for it. It is usually necessary to get a license from the government to open a petrol pump, but no such procedure will be required to open the charging point of electric vehicles. Another option of earning from this will be available to the people. In this, financial assistance will also be provided by the government. A special plan has been prepared for this.

Charging stations for electric vehicles will be installed on major highways and expressways of the country. For this, the government has invited proposals from different private and PSU companies. Under this, e-vehicle charging stations will have to be developed and operated.

There are plans to build charging stations for electric vehicles on Mumbai-Pune, Ahmedabad-Vadodara, Delhi-Agra, Bengaluru-Mysore, Bengaluru-Chennai, Surat-Mumbai, Agra-Lucknow, Eastern Peripheral, and Hyderabad-ORR Expressways.

Apart from this, proposals have also been sought for Delhi-Srinagar, Delhi-Kolkata, Agra-Nagpur, Meerut-Gangotri Dham, Mumbai-Delhi, Mumbai-Panaji, Mumbai-Nagpur, Mumbai-Bengaluru and Kolkata-Bhubaneswar Highway.

The second phase of the Fame India scheme was started to promote electric vehicles. The main objective of this scheme is to promote the rapid use of electric and hybrid vehicles in the country.

For this, people have to develop incentives at the initial stage for the purchase of electric vehicles and to develop adequate infrastructure for charging such vehicles. This scheme will solve problems like environmental pollution and fuel security. Charging stations will be installed under this scheme. According to the information, there is a plan to install charging stations on both sides at 25 km intervals on the highway.
