New Delhi : The new and largest rocket of Space Exploration Technologies Corporation (SpaceX) successfully landed in its third test flight. But after a while it exploded. On Wednesday, the Mars bound starship SN10 Spacecraft was launched at 5:15 pm from SpaceX’s Boca Chica company in Texas, USA. A video of this has also been released by SpaceX on its website. The rocket flew to a height of 10 km before touching the land pad.

The SN10 became the first starship prototype to achieve landing after flying at high altitude. A live launch streaming of SN10 was also done on the NASA SpaceFlight YouTube channel. Its successful landing was a step forward for Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Elon Musk, under which he wanted to send 12 people to the moon by 2023. This plan involves taking astronauts to the lunar surface and then sending them to Mars.

However, the company is still working on the starship for its first Orbit flight, which could be completed by the end of this year. Earlier on Tuesday, a Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa released a video. In which Musk says, “I am confident that we will reach orbit many times before 2023, and then it will be safe to deliver humans there by 2023.” Maezawa has invited eight people for this ‘fun trip’ to the moon.

Earlier, the starship S8 fell victim to a blast in December last year. There was no news of any casualty in this incident. Musk said in October that he believed 80 to 100 percent that the starship would be ready to fly to Orbit by the end of this year. SpaceX, based in California, plans to launch several starship prototypes from its Texas launch site. This launch site is located near the US Mexico Border.
