New Delhi : Following the complaint of Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC), the Election Commission has ordered to remove the photo and video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vaccine through election campaigns in the next 72 hours. The TMC in its complaint to the Election Commission termed it as a self-promotion for the BJP.

In the run-up to the Assembly Elections in 4 states, the Election Commission on Wednesday, 3rd March, observed that hoardings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on petrol pumps violates the election Model Code of Conduct (MCC). With the MCC coming into effect right after the announcement of polling dates on February 26, the Election Commission has now directed petrol pumps across states to remove hoardings carrying PM Modi’s picture within 72 hours. Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala, West Bengal and Puducherry are slated to go to the polls between March and April.

Long before the Assembly elections in Bengal, there is a political battle between the TMC and the BJP. After taking the vaccine dose, TMC complained to the Election Commission about the certificate of the Union Health Ministry.

Trinamool Congress MP Derek O’Brien wrote a complaint to the Election Commission. In addition to the photo of PM Modi on this vaccination certificate, a message has been printed on his behalf in English and Hindi.

Derek O’Brien said in his complaint that PM Modi is not only misusing his position with the vaccination certificate given by the Ministry of Health, but is also stealing the credit of those making the Covid vaccine. He said that he is openly undermining the selfless service of doctors, nurses and health workers.
