WHO gets signs of COVID19 outbreak in Wuhan, China refuses to give blood samples
New Delhi : The World Health Organization (WHO) team which went to investigate the origin of Covid-19 (Coronavirus) in Wuhan city of China may not have found any concrete evidence yet, but CNN has claimed in a report that the investigative team has found such evidence that it was only in December 2019 that there were signs of coronavirus widespread.
According to the report, the investigation team has asked China to immediately provide blood samples of thousands of people who have not been allowed to investigate so far.
WHO’s lead investigator Peter Ben Embark confirmed this in an CNN interview. He said, we have come to know that there are signs of the spread of the virus on a much larger scale in 2019.
It has also been confirmed for the first time that dozens of strains of coronavirus were already present in Wuhan in December. The WHO team, which arrived in China in January, has been probing for nearly four weeks to find the starting point of the Covid-19 spread.
Also, the WHO team also met the first patient caught by the corona virus. According to the team, the infection was confirmed on December 8 in this office worker, about 40 years old, who does not have any travel history.
In December 2019, the United Nations Health Agency took cognizance of a media report about cases of pneumonia occurring in Wuhan, China for unknown reasons. The outbreak of the virus was later identified as the novel coronavirus.
However, China shared the genetic sequence of the virus with the WHO in early January. Later, many scientists studying the origins of Covid-19 indicated that the virus was spreading in China long before it was officially reported.
