Craze of Made in India Twitter alternative ‘Koo’ increased, Know how to use

New Delhi : In the midst of a confrontation with the central government, the craze for joining a native micro-blogging site in India, instead of Twitter, has intensified. Downloading of the Koo app has increased overnight in India. According to Koo’s co-founder Mayank Bidawatka, there has been a 10-fold increase in downloading of Koo in the last two days.

The Koo app has been downloaded more than 3 million (about 30 lakh) times in just two days. According to Mayank, the Koo app has the highest number of sign-ups in the last 48 hours.

Koo app in top trending on Twitter
Union Minister Piyush Goyal had announced to join the Koo app on Tuesday. Since then, the downloading of the Koo app is seeing a boom. Also, #kooapp was on top trending on Twitter. Around 21,000 posts were attached to it. Also, #BanTwitter was trending on Twitter. Many ministers including Goyal are downloading the Koo app. Goyal has 9.6 million followers (about 96 million) on Twitter. Apart from Piyush Goyal, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra, BJP’s IT head Amit Malviya have also announced to join the Koo app.

What is koo
Koo can simply be called the native version of Twitter. The Koo app was launched in March of 2019 last year. The Koo app was the winner of the Government of India’s Self-Reliant India App Challenge last year, organized by the Government of India as an incentive for the local app. This app gives the user the option to share the message in text, audio, video. In this, people can be followed like Twitter. The Koo app supports Indian languages such as Hindi, Telugu, Bengali, Tamil, Malayalam, Gujarati, Punjabi, Oriya and Assamese.

The Koo app is present on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Users can download the Koo app on their Android and iOS devices from here. The Koo app is rated 4.7 stars on the Google Play Store. While Koo has a rating of 4.1 on the iOS based App Store.
