New Delhi : Central employees are eagerly awaiting the announcement of increase in DA. Especially since the budget, every day has been hard because all India Consumer Price Index has been announced and now it is announced to increase DA.

In fact, the Labor Department has also announced the All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI). This has raised hopes among central employees that they may get an increased DA. Explain that the rate of dearness allowance is determined only by AICPI. On the basis of AICPI, it is being said that the government can increase dearness allowance by 4 percent. This will directly benefit central employees and pensioners. According to the Seventh Pay Commission, if DA rises by 4%, then their TA (TA) will also increase by 4%.

Due to Corona, DA was not given to central employees from 1 July 2020 to 1 January 2021. According to the Centre’s announcement, central employees will not receive dearness allowance until June 2021. DA and Dearness Relief (DR) are currently not being paid to central employees. Explain that at present the dearness allowance of central employees is 17 percent. After 4% increase in DA, dearness allowance will increase to 21% and travel allowance will also increase by 4%. This will result in a bumpy increase in salary of employees and pension of pensioners.
