Sensex opens beyond 51200 with a gain of 473 points

Today, the Bombay Stock Exchange’s flagship index Sensex opened by 473.04 points (0.93 per cent) to 51204.67 level. At the same time, the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty opened at 15060.95 with a gain of 136.70 points, or 0.92 per cent.

The market capitalization (market cap) of the top 10 Sensex companies collectively rose by Rs 5,13,532.5 crore last week amid widespread positive market sentiment. During this period, the market capitalization of banks was seen to be the highest.
