‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ actress Prachi Tehlan molested and beaten up in Delhi
New Delhi : Cases of molestation of girls are common in the country’s capital Delhi. Now, the famous TV serial Diya Aur Baati Hum actress Prachi Tehlan has been chased, beaten and molested. The incident is of late on Sunday. The police have released all four youth arrested in this case on bail.
A senior police officer said that Prachi Tehlan lives with her husband in an apartment in Rohini Sector-14. She went to her relative’s house on January 31 with her husband at Roop Nagar. Both were returning home by car late at night. Then this incident happened on the way.
Delhi Police have registered an FIR against four persons for allegedly chasing TV actress Prachi Tehlan's car and abusing her in Rohini area on Feb 1 night. The accused were in an inebriated condition at the time of the incident, as per the FIR.

Prachi and her husband had just reached Madhuban Chowk when some youths in the car overtook them. After this, the youths hit Prachi’s car with their car and tried to stop their path by overtaking. Since the time was around 1 o’clock in the night and the road was deserted, the actress thought it appropriate to go home instead of stopping on the road and getting help.
Prachi’s husband was driving the car. But the way the crooks were threatening to kill and abusing them, their hands were trembling. He was speeding his car towards their house but the youth continued to chase. They both reached their society somehow and were still resting when again the crooks came there too.
Prachi and her husband were beaten up by them in the society’s parking lot. The miscreants abused Prachi and uttered abusive words. Although there was a huge crowd there, but nobody was daring to help seeing the aggressive attitude of youths. Meanwhile Prachi somehow left and went to her flat. Even then, the young men chased and knocked on the door of the flat and asked her to come out. Prachi then called PCR and reported the incident.
SHO Praveen Kumar of Prashant Vihar along with other policemen reached the spot and took the four youths into custody. In this, Kashish and Ashish are real brothers and two others have been identified as Akshay and Chirag. All of them were drunk. Police registered a case under sections of molestation, assault and stalking and arrested all on Monday. Since these are all bailable offenses, they were granted bail from the police station. All the accused are 23 to 25 years old and belong to a family of businessmen. All of them are residents of Pitampura area.
The Delhi Police is busy in the farmer movement these days, due to which there is a shortage of staff in the police stations and the police personnel are not available in sufficient numbers for night patrolling. The lack of PCR vans on the way also raises a question mark on public safety.
