Yavatmal : A great negligence has been reported in the Polio vaccination in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra. Health workers gave sanitizer instead of polio drop to 12 children. Whole matter came to light when the condition of all the children worsened. Children were rushed to the district hospital. At the moment, all children are out of danger. Orders have been issued to investigate the incident.

It is being told that the health of all the children who were given polio drops is still fine, the administration has been told that the health workers who committed this mistake have been suspended. According to media information, about 12 children under the age of five were given hand sanitizer instead of polio drop in Yavatmal. After this, the government has admitted all the children to the hospital for treatment.

According to the information, a national polio campaign was conducted in a gram panchayat of Yavatmal on Sunday morning. Here 12 children were given hand sanitizer instead of polio drop. After which these children complained of vomiting and other health related issues late night. They were admitted to the hospital when their health further deteriorated. Giram Gedam, Yogashree Gedam, Harsha Meshram, Bhavana Arke, Vedanta Meshram, Radhika Meshram, Prachi Meshram, Mahi Meshram, Tanuj Gedam, Nisha Meshram, Aastha Meshram have been admitted to the hospital and are undergoing treatment.

According to preliminary information, a CHO, an Anganwadi worker and an Asha worker have been suspended and the matter is being investigated.
