According to this study, 24 out of 31 species of shark and ray fish have now come in the list of threatened species. In addition, the Oceanic Whitetip and the Great Hammerhead Shark are also in danger of extinction. The situation of shark fishes in the Indian Ocean has worsened since 1970 and 84.7 percent shark fish population has declined.

Dr. Richard Sherley, an expert on maritime affairs, said that if steps are not taken now, then the situation can be much more dangerous. Richard also said that in this case, there is a need to put pressure on the governments as well by the people. The same Marine biologist Stuart Sandin says in this case that whenever things are abnormal in the ocean environment, it is known to the shark first. Due to this feature, sharks also find their prey, but due to this, many times, sharks also fall prey to humans.
Talking about this matter, Duke University Ecologist Duke said that when you eliminate the top sea predators like sharks, the sea food cycle can be completely shaken and it can affect many things. Sharks are like sea lions or tigers and they help balance the entire ecosystem.
