Lucknow :

A major accident was averted on Monday at the Charbagh railway station in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. At 7:45 am, two coaches of Shaheed Express (4674) derailed at the station Outer. RPF and GRP teams rushed to the spot in a hurry. There were about 155 passengers in both coaches. Although there was no passenger casualty due to the slow speed of the train, the tracks up to 30 meters were damaged. Passengers aboard both coaches were taken to the destination after adjusting them to other coaches.

DRM Sanjay Tripathi said that there were 155 passengers in the two bogies. There have been no casualties. He said that the train left the yard immediately and its speed was very low. The DRM says that it is a matter of investigation as to how the train derailed. The work of getting the coaches on track has been started.
