New Delhi : The revision petition challenging the verdict of September 30, 2020 in the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court in the Babri Masjid demolition case will be heard today. The CBI special court’s decision to acquit all 32 accused, including former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani, the then Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, senior BJP leaders Murali Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti, Vinay Katiyar, by filing the petition has been described as false and contrary to facts.

A hearing on this is being conducted by Justice Rakesh Srivastava. It is known that this petition has been filed by Haji Mehboob Ahmed and Syed Akhlaq Ahmed, residents of Ayodhya. These people are also victims of the disputed structure demolition incident. In a case related to the demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya on 6 December 1992, a special CBI court on 30 September 2020 delivered its verdict after 28 years.

The court acquitted 32 accused, including former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani, former BJP President and former Union Minister Murali Manohar Joshi, former UP Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, MP’s former Chief Minister Uma Bharti, senior BJP leader Vinay Katiyar. Additional District and Sessions Judge SK Yadav had said in the judgment that “the incident was not preplanned”.
