New Delhi : COVID19 vaccination is going to start soon in India. The Oxford-AstraZeneca and Bharat Biotech vaccines have been approved for use. Now Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has written a letter to PM Narendra Modi requesting that he should send the Covid vaccine of AstraZeneca to Brazil as soon as possible so that vaccination campaigns can be started there.

Bolsonaro’s press office has issued this letter. Brazil ranks second among the countries most affected by Corona and there is increasing pressure on President Bolsonaro due to frequent delays in vaccination campaigns. Questions are being raised on the government why despite being in such poor condition, vaccination is not being started there at the earliest.

In a letter issued by Bolsonaro’s press office, it was said, “To start our Nation Immunization Program soon, I would like 20 lakh doses of the Covid vaccine to be dispatched quickly without harming the Indian immunization campaign.”

Earlier it was reported that an association of Brazilian private health clinics are in talks with Indian pharmaceutical firm Bharat Biotech to buy 5 million corona vaccines. The Brazilian Association of Vaccine Clinics said on its website that it had signed an agreement with the Indian firm to purchase the Covaxin Corona vaccine, which is currently in its final stages of clinical trials. The deal will be finalised after being approved by the Brazilian Health Regulatory Unit.

After America, Brazil has the most deaths from Corona. According to the Worldometer, so far more than 2 lakh 1 thousand 542 deaths have occurred due to Coronavirus in Brazil. So far, more than 8 million cases of corona have been reported here.
