IT team reaches Flipkart and Swiggy offices on charges of GST theft

New Delhi : In a case related to fake input tax credit, the team of the Income Tax department has reached the offices of Flipkart’s group company Instacart and Swiggy’s Bangalore office. The Income Tax team has reached to search and survey the offices of companies on the intelligence input of fake ITC. On this action, a Flipkart spokesman said that the team of the Income Tax Department has contacted us. We are fully cooperating in their investigation.

Earlier, the team of the Income Tax Department had reached Larsen & Toubro and G Group to investigate the GST theft case. Both these companies were accused of availing input tax credit on the basis of fake invoices. On January 4, 15 places of Zee Entertainment were surveyed and searched by the Income Tax Department. The search was done on the basis of data on tax evasion of income tax department presented by Directorate General of GST.

In the last few months, the government has taken major action against the evaders of the Goods and Services Tax. Based on the data and information received from various agencies, the government took action against 7000 entrepreneurs, in which 187 have been arrested, as part of a strict campaign against the GST thieves. Giving this information, Finance Secretary Ajay Bhushan Pandey said that the tax collection of the government has improved rapidly due to this campaign.
