New Delhi : Dry run of Corona vaccine will be done across the country today. This will be done in all states and union territories. Dry run means a rehearsal of coronavirus vaccination. Through this dry run, challenges faced in the campaign of vaccination will be identified. Also, the links between the plan and the implementation will be tested.
These dry runs are proposed to be conducted in at least 3 session sites in all state capitals. Some states will also include such districts which are in far flung areas. Apart from this, there will be a dry run program in other major cities in Maharashtra and Kerala besides the capital. Dry runs in all states will be as per the operational guidelines issued by the ministry on 20 December 2020.
The dry run will be similar to the way a vaccine has been planned for vaccination or as a vaccine. The vaccine will not be given in this dry run, only the data of the people will be taken and uploaded to the coWin app. Many things like micro planning, session site management and securing online data will be tested. According to data, about 96 thousand people have been trained for vaccination. 2 thousand 360 participants have been trained in the national training of trainers and more than 57 thousand participants have been trained in district level training in 719 districts.
States and UTs have also been asked to ensure that physical verification of all proposed sites is done in terms of adequate space, logistic management, internet connectivity, power, security, etc. They have also been asked to ensure that the ‘three-room structure’ at the respective sites has separate entry and exit gates. It should have sufficient space outside to display awareness related information and display all IEC material at these sites.
All states and union territories have been asked to identify vaccination teams and ensure adherence to all standard operating procedures and protocols at identified sites, including training them in every way.
