Kanpur : More than 100 former bureaucrats have written a letter to UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, describing Uttar Pradesh as the center of hate politics. It has been written in the letter that the ‘Uttar Pradesh Law Against Religion Conversion Prohibition Act 2020′ has made the state the center of politics of hate, division and bigotry.’

104 bureaucrats including former National Security Advisor Shivshankar Menon, former Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao, former Prime Minister Advisor TKA Nair have written to CM Yogi Adityanath. The letter states that Uttar Pradesh was once the state to irrigate the Ganga-Jamuna Tehzeeb but has now become the center of politics of hatred, division and bigotry.

In the letter, former bureaucrats have written that the Love Jihad law is a conspiracy against the minorities and is designed to harass them. Love Jihad has been named by right-wing ideologues. In this, Muslim men seduce and marry Hindu women, and then force them to convert. This is only a concoction. This is one side’s heinous atrocities that your administration has committed against the youth.

Former bureaucrats have cited the Allahabad High Court’s comment that if there is a boy and a girl and are marrying on their own free will, then there is no crime from anywhere. The court last month placed an order that interfering with one’s personal relationships violates the right to freedom.
