Deputy Speaker of Karnataka Legislative Council commits suicide by jumping in front of train

Bangalore : Karnataka Legislative Council deputy speaker and JDS leader SL Dharmegowda committed suicide by jumping ahead of a train at Kadur in Chikmagalur. His body is found on the railway track in two pieces. The reason for Dharmagowda’s suicide is not yet clear.

According to information received, the body of SL Dharam Gowda was found on the railway tracks at Kadur in Chikmagalur. Police also found a suicide note there. Former Prime Minister and JDS leader HD Deve Gowda has also expressed grief over the incident. Karnataka Legislative Council Deputy Speaker SL Dharmegowda has said that the suicide was a very shocking incident. HD Deve Gowda also said that Dharmegowda was a very polite and calm person.

According to Kadur police, the suicide note has been recovered. In which he has mentioned an incident of 15 December. In fact, on December 15, Congress leaders had pushed him and was fallen from the chair. He was very upset with it. Explain that the Congress was opposing the appointment of the chairman. As soon as the deputy chairman was seated on the chair, the uproar became so much that the legislative council members of Congress dragged the deputy chairman out of the chair. During this time there was a fierce scuffle between Congress and BJP MLAs (MLC).
