Kolkata : Rumours have intensified that BCCI president and former captain of Team India Sourav Ganguly will be joining BJP. Recently, he met West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar. In such a situation, discussions started that he is joining BJP.
Sourav Ganguly has now given his first reaction to the question on rumours of joining BJP. He was asked if he or any of his family would join the BJP? To this, Ganguly said, “If the governor wants to meet you, you have to meet. So why don’t we also look at it with such a view.”

Sources in Raj Bhavan said that this was a ‘courtesy meet’ of Ganguly and the governor and it has nothing to do with politics. However, in the wake of the state assembly elections to be held in April-May next year, speculations are being made about Ganguly entering politics. Ganguly did not answer questions about the reasons for the meeting but Dhankhar said that he discussed ‘various issues’.
Regarding meeting Sourav Ganguly, the Governor tweeted, ‘BCCI President Sourav Ganguly had a discussion on various issues at the Raj Bhavan at 4:30 pm on Sunday. He accepted his proposal to visit the Eden Gardens, the oldest cricket ground of the country.
